You Know You are an Artist if…

No, I’m not leading into something humorous as the title might imply, just a definition for all of you who sometimes wonder “Am I actually an artist?”

If your heart and soul go into your work, if you feel like a little bit of you now lives with the people who buy your work, then yes, you are an artist.

It took me along time to feel that I could call myself an artist but I can now. Age, wisdom, following my muse(heart) when I create, the desparate need to create, the prayers for those who will look at my art, all have made me realize that I don’t have to be famous or sell alot of my work to be an artist. Creating is soul food for me. And it is a joy seeing others creations too.

Totally agree with the words and totally agree that being an artist is not done for monetary gain. It is a way of being and looking at the world. Inbred. I have many creative interests because I get bored doing the same thing all the time. If I could not be creative in some way, I think I would die.
