{"id":1038,"date":"2012-09-14T16:00:12","date_gmt":"2012-09-14T22:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/daveonline.net\/thepolymerarts.com\/blog\/?p=1038"},"modified":"2012-09-12T21:16:09","modified_gmt":"2012-09-13T03:16:09","slug":"outside-inspiration-pierced-creamware","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thepolymerarts.com\/blog\/outside-inspiration-pierced-creamware\/","title":{"rendered":"Outside Inspiration: Pierced Creamware"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A couple weeks ago I posted a photo and\u00a0links to <a title=\"Outside Inspiration: Cutting in Clay\" href=\"http:\/\/daveonline.net\/thepolymerarts.com\/blog\/outside-inspiration-cutting-in-clay\/\">porcelain carved in stunning open lace-like forms<\/a>. \u00a0A lot of you readers really took ot the idea so when I ran across some 18th century pierced &#8216;creamware&#8217; I thought I&#8217;d investigate as it looks like porcelain that may have inspired our prior Outside Inspiration artist, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jennifermccurdy.com\/index.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">Jennifer McCurdy<\/a>. I found some really exciting ideas including a short tutorial on how to \u00a0easily reproduce this look yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mermaidhut.com\/Prod-18-1-2834-31\/Creamware_Plates_Set_of_9.htm\" target=\"_blank\">modern examples of pierced creamware<\/a> from a retail site called Mermaid Hut. These are plates turned into ornaments but the idea is to consider the possibilities of piercing the clay to make\u00a0lacy designs.
